Questions
- Which cars does this work on?
- Model 3, Model Y, Model S, Model X and Cybertruck with a pedestrian warning speaker, on software 2023.44 or later. Most cars built since late 2019 have one.
- Why WAV?
- The car only reads a WAV file named exactly
LockChime.wav, under 1 MB. Every file here already meets that, at every volume setting. - What does the volume setting do?
- The car has no volume control for the lock sound, so we bake the level into the file. Boosts are capped so the sound never distorts.
- Can I use these sounds?
- Yes. Every sound is original, public domain or under a licence that allows free reuse. Credits are on each sound's page.
